If the porosity is high or the absorbency is strong, a tape with a rapidly setting adhesive is required. Conversely, a tape with a slower setting adhesive or more adhesive content is used.
Initial tack and holding power
The quality of the tape's glue in use has two standards, one is initial tack and the other is holding power, which are inversely proportional. Generally, tape with tack below 10 is coated with less glue, usually only about 20 microns, such as stationery tape or ordinary promotional binding tape; the initial tack thickness of normal sealing tape is generally 22-48 microns.
Generally, yellow BOPP tape and khaki are more common. By pressing the tape and then quickly pulling it apart, you can see the purity and transparency of the original film, and also the thickness of the glue. If no glue is pulled off or it is pulled off in spots, it indicates that the glue contains a lot of impurities and lacks cohesion, or there is too much moisture and it has evaporated. At this time, the initial tack of this tape has significantly decreased and can be distinguished by touch.
